Tietotekniikan termitalkoot gives recommendations on Finnish terminology in the field of information technology. The recommendations have been given by a group of IT, language and media specialists after thorough consideration. Each recommendation is followed by a description of the underlying concept and advice on how to use the term(s) in practice. We hope you will benefit from the recommendations in daily communication.
The terms can be searched via TEPA Term Bank.
This service was started in 1999 within an international project called WebIT/Efcot, part of the MLIS programme (Multilingual Information Society) of the European Commission. If you need Swedish terms, see Svenska datatermgruppen (Joint Group for Swedish Computer Terminology).
For more information please contact the Finnish Terminology Centre.
* "Tietotekniikan termitalkoot", the Finnish title for the service, refers to "voluntary team work on IT terminology".
