The Vocabulary of Social Welfare Aggregate Core Components, version 3.0, was completed in March 2015. It contains information in Finnish on most of the aggregate core components of the client data model in social welfare. The vocabulary contains 252 concepts related to aggregate core components. The vocabulary clarifies the content of the concepts with the help of definitions and complementing notes and gives recommendations on the Finnish terms. Some of the relationships between concepts are illustrated with concept diagrams.
Aggregate core components are semantic data entities which are used in structuring the content of documents. In the client data model of social welfare the aggregate core components represent the phenomena of the real world that can be found in the client documents of social welfare. The basic objective of aggregate core component modelling is to ensure that similar data is saved in the documents in a coherent way. The other basic idea is reusability: the structure of an aggregate core component is defined once, after which it can be utilized in many different documents. Some components are used even in all social welfare documents. The aggregate core components form an important part of the information architecture in social welfare and work as the basis for semantic interoperability.
The first version of the vocabulary was compiled in a project carried out by the National Project for IT in Social Services (Tikesos) and the Finnish Terminology Centre TSK in 2010–2011. The vocabulary was complemented and updated in 2012–2013 by the commission of the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), and as a result, the second version of the vocabulary was published.
