The second edition of the Glossary of Integration (Työ- ja elinkeinoministeriön julkaisuja 2025:11), which is part of the publication series of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland, came out in March 2025. The first edition of the Glossary was published in June 2021. The working group of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland and the Finnish Terminology Centre have updated the concepts in the glossary in accordance with the reformed Integration Act (Act on the Promotion of Immigrant Integration) that came into force on 1 January 2025.
The Glossary of Integration defines concepts related to the Integration Act and the key public services promoting integration, as well as concepts related to participation and equality. The primary goal of the Glossary is to harmonise the usage of concepts and terms.
The second edition of the Glossary of Integration contains information on 65 concepts in Finnish and Swedish. These concepts are clarified by means of definitions and accompanying notes. Recommendations are given on the usage of terms in Finnish and Swedish. The terms are are given equivalents in English. Relations between the concepts are illustrated by means of concept diagrams.
