In 2017, the Finnish Terminology Centre carried out terminology work for KEHA-Centre’s (Development and Administrative Services Centre for public employment services) TE-digi project (project which aims to develop a national digital “meeting place” for the supply and demand for labour). In August 2019, this work was continued with a special focus on concepts related to customership. The work will result in a terminology in which terms, definitions and notes are given in Finnish at this point.
The terminology is being worked on by using methods of terminology work. These methods allow for elaborating definitions and term recommendations which reflect the underlying concept system, and as a result, are systematic and logical in nature. This, in turn, helps terminology users to understand differences and relations between the concepts. As part of the concept analysis, the terminologist also checks the effects that the possible modifications may have on the concept system.
The material prepared by the terminologist will be discussed in workshops with the experts named by KEHA-Centre. After the workshops, the terminologist revises the material.
