Classification of Buildings 2018
The Finnish Terminology Centre TSK participated in a project commissioned by the Statistics Finland to update the Classification of Buildings 1984. The new Classification of Buildings 2018 was published in December.

New and updated concepts:
The Finnish Terminology Centre started a terminology project on taxation in April 2018 for the Finnish Tax Administration. The goal of the terminology project is to collect and harmonize or prepare definitions and notes for 50-70 central concepts in personal taxation. Terms, definitions and notes are given in Finnish.
The Finnish Terminology Centre TSK started a terminology project in September for the Statistics Finland. The aim of the project is to collect and harmonize or prepare definitions and notes for circa 30 central concepts related to energy and release statistics. Terms and concept descriptions are given in Finnish. The terminologist prepares material for work shops, where concepts are discussed and terms and concept descriptions are processed with the experts of the Statistics Finland.
In summer 2018, the Finnish Terminology Centre started terminology work commissioned by the Oulu Region Joint Authority for Education, who is the coordinator of a project called Parasta digitukea (”Best digital support”) (http://parastadigitukea.fi). he project Parasta digitukea relates to vocational education, training agreements and apprenticeship agreements.
The new ontology for traffic, Liikenteen ontologia LIIKO, has been published on the Finnish thesaurus and ontology service Finto. The ontology is built on the former Merenkulkualan ontologia MERO (ontology for seafaring).
The Finnish Group for IT Terminology has now started to use UML (Unified Modeling Language) markup conventions in concept diagrams. The introduction of UML diagrams makes it easier to update the diagrams, and the diagrams can be seen better on different screens. The terms and definitions in the diagrams continue to act as links to the term records in question.
