The Finnish Terminology Centre TSK has started a terminology project commissioned by the Development and Administration centre for ELY Centres and TE Offices, KEHA centre. The aim of the project is to define about 80 concepts on employment services used in the KEHA centre’s data platform solution. The terms and concept descriptions are given in Finnish.
The terminology for employment service statistics is being worked on by using methods of terminology work. These methods allow for elaborating definitions and term recommendations which reflect the underlying concept system. This, in turn, helps terminology users to understand differences and relations between the concepts.
The Terminology Centre’s terminologist prepares systematic definitions and notes for the concepts and draws concept diagrams, and then the terminology is discussed in workshops attended by subject field experts from ELY centres. It is planned that the terminology work should be finished by the end of the year.
