Updating the terminology of the Licencing and Supervision Project

Submitted by webmaster on

In 2017, the Ministry of Employment and the Economy and the Finnish Terminology Centre carried out a joint terminology project which resulted in publishing a terminology entitled Luvat ja valvonta -hanke: Palvelukerroksen keskeiset käsitteet, versio 0.8 (Licencing and Supervision Project – central service-layer concepts, version 0.8). In February 2019, the Ministry of Employment and the Economy commissioned from the Terminology Centre a new terminology project, with a view to introducing new concepts to the earlier publication. The aim of the terminology work is to harmonise and clarify concepts related to service activity and supervision, and in that way, to support the target architecture work of the Licencing and Supervision Project and enhance interoperability between information systems. The new concepts will be provided with terms and concept descriptions in Finnish.

The terminology of the Licencing and Supervision Project is being worked on by using methods of terminology work. These methods allow for elaborating definitions and term recommendations which reflect the underlying concept system, and as a result, are systematic and logical in nature. The terminology work is carried out by terminologists of the Finnish Terminology Centre in close collaboration with subject field experts. The updated terminology version is to be ready for publication in autumn 2019.
