Terminology work on TE-digi project continues

Since 2017, the Finnish Terminology Centre has carried out terminology work for the KEHA Centre’s (Development and Administrative Services Centre for public employment services) TE-digi project (project which aims to develop a national digital “meeting place” for the supply and demand for labour). In spring 2021, this work was continued. The work will result in a glossary in which terms, definitions and notes are given in Finnish.

Terminology project on government grant activities to continue in autumn 2021

In autumn 2021, the Finnish Terminology Centre will continue the terminology work, commissioned by the CSC – IT Center for Science Ltd., with the aim of drawing up descriptions for the key concepts related to government grant activities and activities financed by government grants. The work is carried out in order to support the development and digitalisation of government grant activities.

Update of Tekla Structures glossary in autumn 2021

The software company Trimble Solutions (formerly called Tekla) publishes and maintains Tekla Structures glossary, which is a terminology resource accompanying the Tekla Structures building information modelling software. The software and the glossary combine terminology from both construction and IT fields. The glossary provides terms and definitions in English for the central concepts of the software.

Terminology work for the Finnish Heritage Agency

The Finnish Heritage Agency commissioned the Finnish Terminology Centre for a terminology project in August 2021. The aim of the project is to provide definitions for some 20 concepts related to renovating and conservation of buildings. The terms and concept descriptions will be given in Finnish.

The terminology work will be carried out by a terminologist of the Finnish Terminology Centre in close collaboration with subject field experts from the Finnish Heritage Agency. The terminology work will be finished by the end of 2021.

Traffic ontology LIIKO expanded with rail transport concepts

The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency, the Finnish Railway Museum and the Finnish Terminology Centre initiated together an ontology project in the beginning of 2020. During the project the organizations expanded the Traffic Ontology LIIKO with some 750 concepts related to rail transport. The structure of the ontology was also updated.

Terminology work on information management

The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency commissioned the Finnish Terminology Centre for a terminology project in May 2021. The aim of the project is to provide definitions for some 50 concepts related to information management. The terms and concept descriptions will be given in Finnish.

The terminology work will be carried out by a terminologists of the Finnish Terminology Centre in close collaboration with subject field experts from the agency. The terminology will be finished by the end of 2021.
