Terminology for National Address Information System

The National Land Survey of Finland (NLS) commissioned the Finnish Terminology Centre for a terminology project in the beginning of this year. The aim of the project is to provide concept descriptions for some 30 concepts related to addresses. The terms and concept descriptions will be given in Finnish and term equivalents in Swedish and English.

EU Core Vocabularies in Finnish

The Finnish Terminology Centre and the Digital and Population Data Services Agency began in November 2020 cooperation to define concepts of the EU Core Vocabularies. EU Core Vocabularies - Ehdotus suomenkieliseksi sanastoksi, a proposal for a Finnish vocabulary, contains the following vocabularies: Core Person Vocabulary, Core Public Organisation Vocabulary, Core Business Vocabulary as well as Core Criterion and Core Evidence Vocabulary.

Terminology work for the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency

The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency commissioned the Finnish Terminology Centre for a terminology project in March. The aim of the project is to provide terms and definitions for circa five concepts related to the documents that concern the approval of products and materials used in development and road projects. The terms and concept descriptions will be given in Finnish.

Programme for Nordterm 2021 available

The Finnish Terminology Centre and the University of Helsinki arrange the Nordterm 2021 webinar with the theme 'Terminology Work and Information Management' on 1-2 June. The webinar is free of charge and open to everyone interested in the theme.

The programme for the webinar has now been published online. Registration will be open until 17 May.

Terminology project on government grant activities to continue in spring 2021

In 2021, the Finnish Terminology Centre will continue the terminology work, commissioned by the CSC – IT Center for Science Ltd., with the aim of drawing up descriptions for the key concepts related to government grant activities and activities financed by government grants. The work is carried out in order to support the development and digitalisation of government grant activities.
