Nordterm 2017 in Kongsberg 12-15 June 2017

The Nordic cooperation forum Nordterm organizes an assembly every second year. The next assembly will be held 12—15 June in Kongsberg, Norway. The assembly will be opened with a one-day course/workshop and the program will continue with a conference. The main theme chosen for this year's conference is Hvem er brukerne av terminologiske ressurser – og hvordan når vi ut til dem?

International Terminology Summer School 10-14 July 2017 in Cologne

The International Terminology Summer School (TSS) 2017 will take place 10-14 July 2017 in Cologne. TSS is a one-week, practice-oriented training course covering a comprehensive overview of the methods and principles of terminology management. TSS is designed for language and terminology professionals, students and researchers who are looking for a comprehensive introduction to terminology management theory and practice.

Updating MAO/TAO ontology

Finland's National Board of Antiquities ordered ontology work from the Finnish Terminology Centre TSK to update and supplement MAO/TAO – Ontology for Museum Domain and Applied Arts. The work started in the autumn of 2016.

Updating Tekla Structures glossary

In autumn 2016 the Finnish Terminology Centre TSK started a terminology project to complement and update Trimble's Tekla Structures glossary, a glossary on building modelling software. The glossary gives English term recommendations and definitions for the central concepts of the software.

Extended version of the MAO/TAO Ontology published in Finto

In late 2015, Finland's National Board of Antiquties and the Finnish Terminology Centre started a project for extending the MAO/TAO – Ontology for Museum Domain and Applied Arts. The extended ontology was published in the ontology and thesaurus service maintained by the National Library of Finland, the Finto service.
